For us, hosting at Strabo Riviera is much more than simply providing a beautiful place for someone to stay. It is about creating a feeling a feeling of being welcomed, comfortable, respected, and genuinely cared for.
Strabo Riviera is a family passion, supported by a very close friend who has been part of my life since childhood. Our team is made up of Subrato, my wife Sonali, our daughter Shirin, our son Shamak, and my childhood friend Hemant. Each of us brings something special to Strabo, but we are united by one simple belief: true hospitality comes from the heart.
What we enjoy most about hosting is the connection with people. Every guest who walks through our doors has a different story, a different reason for travelling, and different expectations. From the moment a reservation is made until the moment our guests leave, we want them to feel that there is a real family behind Strabo Riviera who genuinely cares about their experience.
We take pride in communicating with our guests and making sure they feel comfortable before, during, and after their stay. Whether they are visiting Vancouver with family, travelling for an event, spending time with friends, or simply looking for a peaceful place surrounded by nature, we try to understand what they need and make their stay as comfortable and memorable as possible.
Sonali, my wife, is an important part of the heart behind Strabo. She brings warmth, care, and attention to detail. She understands that sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference a beautifully prepared room, a welcoming atmosphere, or making sure a guest has everything they need to feel at home.
Our daughter Shirin and our son Shamak are also part of our Strabo journey. Having our children involved makes hosting especially meaningful for us. Strabo is not simply a property we operate; it is something our family is building together. Through hosting, they get to experience the joy of meeting people from different places, learning about different cultures and stories, and understanding the importance of kindness, responsibility, and making others feel welcome.
Hemant, my childhood friend, is another very special part of the Strabo family. Our friendship goes back many years, and having him involved makes this journey even more personal. His reliability, practical approach, and willingness to help have been invaluable. We share the same commitment to maintaining the property, solving problems, and continuously finding ways to make Strabo Riviera better.
We are especially grateful when our guests take the time to share their feedback. We do not see feedback as criticism. We see it as an opportunity to learn and improve. If a guest tells us that something could be better, we listen carefully. Whether it is a mattress, a kitchen item, the comfort of the home, or a small detail that we may have overlooked, every suggestion matters.
Our goal is never to think that everything is already perfect. We want Strabo Riviera to become better with every guest.
One of the things that makes hosting so meaningful to our family is watching guests enjoy the surroundings. Strabo Riviera is more than a house. It is a place where people can slow down, enjoy the river, walk through the surrounding natural areas, have morning coffee outdoors, spend quality time together, or simply enjoy the peace and beauty of nature.
We love knowing that families and friends may create memories here that they will carry with them long after they leave.
We also believe that great hospitality includes respecting privacy. We want our guests to know that we are always available whenever they need assistance, but we also understand that their vacation and personal time belong to them. To us, good hosting means being helpful without being intrusive.
Every positive review means a great deal to our family-not simply because of the rating, but because it tells us that a guest felt comfortable and appreciated their experience. When guests communicate openly, respect the house, follow the guidelines, and leave thoughtful feedback, we feel that we have created something meaningful based on mutual respect.
Hosting has also taught us that small gestures matter. A warm welcome, a thoughtful message, clear instructions, a quick response to a question, or simply making sure everything is ready before arrival can change the way someone experiences a stay.
We do not want Strabo Riviera to be remembered simply as an Airbnb property.
We want it to be remembered as a place where people felt at home.
For our family and Hemant, hosting is a combination of family, friendship, people, nature, hospitality, and continuous learning. It gives us an opportunity to meet wonderful people from different places, hear their stories, learn from their experiences, and hopefully make their time in Delta a little more special.
Most importantly, hosting has given us something we value deeply: the opportunity to open a part of our home and our hearts to people from around the world.
Strabo Riviera is the home we share with our guests, but hospitality is the experience we want to leave with them.

Close to the city, away from its noise
Set on the banks of the Fraser River in Delta's Nordel neighbourhood,
the property looks north across the water to the Alex Fraser Bridge
and the mountains beyond. New Westminster and Surrey sit just across
the river, downtown Vancouver is roughly 25 minutes by car, and
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is a short drive away —
close enough for convenience, far enough for quiet.
